Time for another one of those selfish posts.. I'm printing this so google can come and eat this page and one day when I'm searching for this error again, it'll be easy to find.
E [23/May/2007:23:28:57 -0400] [Job 4] Destination printer does not exist!
E [23/May/2007:23:28:57 -0400] PID 25482 (/usr/lib/cups/backend/ipp) stopped with status 4!
If you're setting up printing on your linux box, and you're printing to another cups server, and you're getting a message like the one up there, here's the deal. The url has to look like this :
ipp://hostname_or_ip_of_my_printer/printers/name_of_printer_on_server
They kind of gloss over that part and you may end up spending a bit of time figuring that one out. For example... if your server that the printer is on 192.168.1.2 and the printer is named laser in cups, your IPP url line should look like ipp://192.168.1.2/printers/laser.
