So... I finally did it. Went out, broke the bank, made my credit card cry and bought the new lens I've been eyeing up. I didn't quite get the most expensive lens in the store, but I came reasonably close. Ended up grabbing the 80-200/2.8 and I even paid for it too. I was going to run off with it, but then the guy looked at me funny. Really.

I've been playing around with it a bit tonight and it's pretty darn groovy, I gotta say. It seems to really excel nicely at doing portrait photography, and when I setup it up on my little tripod and get down on the group, I feel like the midnight ninja sniper with his telescopic katana of doom! It's pretty fun. I'll see if I can arrange for photos later.

Mostly this is in preperation for the end of July, when I'm heading down to Austin to photography a wedding. Not just any wedding, but a family wedding. Ok.. Near-family. Almost family. Sooon-to-be family. I'm nervious, yet excited, but I think things will go well. Let's just hope all this practice pays off.

We... shall.. see.
